Online Books Research

P4:
I went onto the internet to try have a look for what book I wanted to buy for my images; So I went onto yahoo and print screened the list of possibilities what came up.

After this I went onto a couple of websites on which their layouts and designs caught my attention:

The first one was called Snap Fish I liked this one because you could put a theme behind the picture and I had chosen map, and adventure / exploring because when I was in australia most of the time I felt like I was exploring this land i didnt know.

The second book website i had chosen was Boots.com this was the most likliest website to go wth because i loved the simpleness on how to upload your photos and complete the whole book.
Another plus thing about boots was that you could choose on which side of the photo the background could either be black or white.

The other thing I liked about the Boots website was that on the back of the book you can add your own personal touch by placing your name on the back saying 'Created By'

The third book website I went onto was Photo Productions.
I liked the way they styled their books but the only problem I had was that I couldnt actually create the look that I wanted which was their specialty so I had to just print screen of what they had to offer. Unfortunately I did not go through with the website because the price was far too much for a project which my photos werent at it best. Unlike the australian one.

Duscission on why I made my choice:

I have made my choice and i am going to choose the Boots website book offer, for working for myself i want to choose a website where it is at its simplest to get the job done. I have gone for boots because it is pretty straight forwards what I need to do and because the book has a slightly laid back theme to it, i dont want the book to over compinsate for it.

I think a medium to small size book will suit it fine but making sure that the pages inside are as big as they can be as you want to see lots of the image when you look at it, for example when looking at a sky scraper of a view of perth city you dont want to see a small image you want it as big as possible to make it feel like you are there so I have to take that into account.

Evaluation

My work is about comparing The town of Burton on trent to Australia. This includes culture street photography and also lanscape photography.
I thought I would do this book choice because we think that burton is bland and pretty plain, people over there in aussie will think that over here is quite interesting like we think over there is much more of a better place.

I have photographed various street objects and signs of australias streets and them took photos of the same but in the english version of this. Some things were more harder to take photos of simply because burton didnt have the same things that such a big place as Australia would have. some things were quite minimalistic.

Throughout the assignment my ideas never really changed about the subject I was doing, the only changes I continuously made were which photos i was going to take to compare each. Some photographs were harder to take and impossible to take so I had to change a few.

I was using My Camera phone to take a few of the images and the main photos were taken on a canon 1100D.
The different techniques I would have used is the angle of the photos of australia were taken as the same angles in burton on trent. So both images can look alike as much as possible.

I am pleased with my work that I have produced. If I was to do it again I would have some extra time to possibly go to furtehr places and take slightly better images. Its a shame burton doesnt have great massive parks like Australia and sky scraper buildings as it would look better.
